Well, let's see: 700,000 million / 300 million population. That seems to be $2333.33 per man, woman, child, and little baby in the country. For retired me and my retired wife, $4667 is more petty cash than we have on hand. But, I think what we are asked to do actually is take a gamble on some securities that are not worth much now but MIGHT be in the future and kind of co-sign for them. It is very convoluted though - we are asked to guarantee a loan made by the people we borrow from so they can loan us money. Excuse me, I have a headache.

Perhaps providence has smiled on us poor old (excuse the expression) Liberals. If only the only ones who think she could lead the world's "greatest Nation" are dipstick NASCAR Fans, we SHOULD take going away. Sure we have black quarterback and some other dipsticks will object to that. But  hey, he can execute the plays and with a good quarterback we can win!

Well. what goes around comes around and what you sow also you will reap, etc. and good enough for them. BUT - It looks like the investment bankers have been beating their cash cow so much that it died and now they want us to buy them a new cow. And, the catch is if we don't no more milk for our kids.

Thanks for this revelation, I had not looked into it before. I suspected something like that but it is much sadder than I ever thought. I am sad for her, and for John McCain. I did not walk in his shoes, but I would have a hard time supporting him after hearing this. I am glad I don't have that problem because, having once voted for GW Bush, I will NEVER vote for the Republican agenda again, even if they run a Saint.

Yeah, but after the Democrats put some help for the poor in the bill, it did not pass because the Republicans then did not like it. Well we can count on Congress to mess it up. The stock market is tankinh on the news - glad I am retired and on SS, which so far is still paying off.

Sorry to hear of all your troubles. Those are the kind of thing the Party I vote for will not let happen. The agenda of "help the rich and it will trickle down to the poor" cannot work because the rich did not become that way through concern for the poor. I agree with you and it definitely will always affect my vote in the future. Thanks for yours comment!

Hey yeah! They STILL are trying to get me to put more credit on my card after all this and I might not even live long enough to pay it back. I refuse though - why should I pay this crooks criminal amounts of interest when I don't have to?

Sorry, what I think Leno's joke meant was that the value of the US dollar had shrunk so much that the bills dropped were like trash. This happens when other countries see the US economy is tanking and start trading in their US dollars for other currency.

Certainly would be fair - IF it could be done without destroying the finances of the rest of us. Jay Leno made the quip about he guy that dropped some US paper money and got fined for littering
